Often referred to as the “Valley of the Sun,” Ramona in its daytime hours is awash with brilliant blue skies, perfect for observing a variety of birds, including migrating birds of prey.
Throughout the fall and winter months, massive thunderheads can be spotted hovering atop the nearby mountains, and on occasion, a contrail or white streak can be seen in the wake of aircraft high above.
Whimsical clouds often fill the skies, creating spectacular images for professional and amateur photographers alike.

In the absence of city lights, Ramona is an ideal location for viewing stars. After sunset, stargazers can gather at the town’s highest peaks, and with the aid of scopes and binoculars, they may view iconic star constellations, isolated solar events and meteors, and even the aftermath of a rare rocket launch.
